Slovenia Hotels

Between the majestic Alps and the Mediterranean, Slovenia is characterised by mountains, rivers and transit routes. The capital of the country is Ljubljana, situated in the heart of the country. Overlooking the city, there are the twin towers of Ljubljana Cathedral (1708), featuring some impressive frescoes.

The city has a good opera house and the symphony orchestra plays regularly in the Big Hall of the Culture and Congress Centre. Slovenia’s second largest city, Maribor, is only 10km from the Austrian border. The famous mountain resort of Bled is located on the charming Lake Bled, where skating and curling are practised in winter, and swimming and rowing in summer. Slovak Republic Hotels

Situated in Central Europe, the Slovak Republic achieved independence in 1993 and is slowly opening up to tourism. The country is divided into three regions: Bratislava and the West, Central Slovakia including the mountains, and The East.
